Our hospitality-driven restaurant is helmed by Executive Chef Alfredo Van Nortwick, a local Eugene professional with decades of experience crafting excellent dishes from our region’s finest ingredients. No stranger to the joys of outdoor life, Alfredo makes the most of the Willamette Valley, enjoying hiking, camping and fishing with his family in its beautiful surroundings. His love of the natural world and Eugene’s unique landscape are abundantly clear in the taste sensations he shares through Sweet Waters’ expertly curated seasonal menus.

Our Executive Chef


I’m a proud native Oregonian with a passion for culinary excellence.

At a young age, I ran a kitchen for a local restaurant, which led to my desire to attend culinary school.  I later earned a degree in the Culinary Arts. After graduating, I honed my skills in key positions in local restaurants, progressing through the ranks from line cook to Sous Chef, Banquet Chef, and Executive Sous Chef to my current position of Executive Chef of Sweet Waters, specializing in Pacific Northwest cuisine. As an Executive Chef with 20 years of industry experience, I am excited to share my passions and enthusiasm with diners at Sweet Waters. There’s so much about our local food culture to celebrate.
